Caring for our lives and our health is not something wrong, but how can we do that? Of course, eating healthy foods, doing more physical activity, etc. Almost everyone should have heard that they should not swim directly after eating because it can cause colic, but have you ever wondered what else to do directly after a meal?

Some things to avoid right after eating include:

Sleep right after meals

Sleeping immediately after eating can cause a variety of health problems such as gastric flatulence, acid reflux, gas, and uncomfortable sleep. Wait at least 2 - 3 hours after meals to fall asleep.

To smoke

This habit is very common in chronic smokers, but studies have shown it can have adverse effects on health. The harm of smoking directly after eating is the same as smoking 10 cigarettes at a time.

Take a shower

Usually after eating, blood from the periphery such as feet and hands moves to the digestive system. But when showering, blood flows into the hands and feet causing less blood to circulate in the stomach, thus weakening the digestive system and causing slower digestion. Wait at least 1 - 2 hours before showering, after eating.

Drink tea or coffee

Tea and coffee are some of the drinks to be taken before meals, as if you drink coffee or tea directly after you eat it will prevent the body from absorbing the iron from the food. Wait at least one hour after each meal.

Go out for a walk

Wait at least 30 minutes after eating to go for a walk, as walking directly after meals can cause acid reflux and difficulty in digestion.
