The uncertainty created by Covid-19 seems to have ruined many Albanians' plans to go on holiday this year. But more than fear, the main reason is related to economic impossibility.

According to a survey by IDRApoll.com, the online survey community from IDRA Research & Consulting, nearly 59% of Albanians say they will not be on vacation this year.

Only 8% of those who will not go on vacation are stopped for fear of COVID-19 which is closely related to health.

Most of them who will not go on vacation because they do not have economic opportunities, 29%

The results show that despite the economic situation or the fear of COVID-19 infection, about 36% of Albanians say they are waiting to go on holiday during July-August-September. There are also those who have already completed their vacation, about 2%.

Furthermore, there is a part of the citizens who are waiting for the release of the movement towards tourist destinations outside Albania to enjoy the holidays abroad.

Of the reasons that prevent Albanians from going on holiday this year, only 8% of those who will not go on vacation are banned for fear of COVID-19 which is closely linked to health. This category of citizens consider COVID-19 as the main reason to cancel this summer vacation. The remaining 51% who will not be on vacation this year cite reasons related to work obligations, other family and the reason for economic opportunities.

Going into detail, about 22% state that they have other work or family commitments, which makes it impossible for them to find the time to go on vacation this year. The survey notes that the majority of those who will not go on vacation are those who do not have economic opportunities, 29% (will not go on vacation this year mainly due to economic impossibility).

Idra emphasizes that the result according to which the economic situation remains the main concern of Albanians in these months has been supported by other previous surveys conducted by IDRApoll.com.
