Invited to the show "This Week", on News24, the immunologist, Genc Sulçebe said that a person who has passed the coronavirus, has created antibodies and as a result is protected even without being vaccinated.

But, according to the doctor, in order to achieve as much immunity of the herd as possible, it is good to vaccinate even those who pass the virus.

"Those who have passed the virus must also be immunized in order to achieve the immunity of the herd. "If a person has passed the virus and created antibodies, it is good to vaccinate them, because we need to immunize as many people as possible," said Dr. Sulcebe.

However, he added that even if the antibodies may be gone, the person who has passed Covid-19 has some kind of immunity and will not get sick as before

"Antibodies are reduced after 3-4 months, and may even disappear. In some people they can stay for up to 8 months. Antibodies and their amount is only an indicator of immunity to the virus. Even if we have passed the infection, even if the antibodies may have diminished or disappeared, the immunity continues to be and we no longer get sick as before. "Reinfections are very rare."

As for the amount of antibodies we need, Dr. Sulcebe said it does not matter much, reiterating that even if they disappear again we have immunity.
