A study conducted by Oxford University explained that the maturation of the human brain is distinguished by a prolonged development of functional and structural properties. The purpose of this research was to find out which traits become more mature and which remain the same. Scientists examined the brains of 121 participants between the ages of 4 and 40 through brain imaging. They also tracked changes in different functions taking into account the age and gender of the participants.
Men mature later in life
The results of this experiment found that although the same brains of men and women develop the same ability to operate in daily life, men often show a delay in the prolonged development of functional networks compared to women. This is why men are said to mature later in life than women. Men only really mature after the age of 40.
Women's brains are more efficient
There is a lot of data that confirms the greater efficiency of women's brains. Eduardo Calixto, a professor of physiology and pharmacology at the UNAM School of Medicine, explained in a recent publication that although men's brains are larger than women's, girls have greater efficiency. For example, women have a better memory and a detailed understanding of color and aroma.
