The good news is that before bedtime you can eat light foods that help sleep, such as foods that help eliminate fat. What about a glass of milk?

Milk is considered a healthy source, rich in protein and calcium, but there is a problem. A glass of milk before bedtime is high in lactose (the main sugar found in milk.) Lactose is produced by the cells of the small intestinal mucosa and breaks down milk into two simple forms of sugar: glucose and galactose, which are absorbed into the bloodstream. High lactose content often causes problems with the digestive system.

So, if you are lactose intolerant, you should at all costs avoid the glass of milk before going to bed.

Note: Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest certain amounts of lactose, the main sugar found in milk. Not all people who are lactose intolerant have symptoms, but those who do are called lactose intolerant.

People sometimes confuse lactose intolerance with cow’s milk intolerance because often the symptoms are the same, but it does not mean that these types of intolerances are the same.

People with lactose insufficiency (insufficient amount) to digest the lactose they consume can have many concerns. Signs that appear include:

Mixed

Pain (cramps) and bloating (abdomen)

Diarrhea
