Here it is again, date 13 and Friday. Fortunately, last for this year. If you are superstitious and worried about this union and the story behind you, you are not alone. The 13th Friday, for years, before the birth of Christ, has been considered one of the most unfortunate days of the year. For many people, this is the biggest nightmare that can happen on a calendar of a year. For 2018, this is the second and the last Friday on the 13th. The first was the 13th of April.

Psychologists recognize this phenomenon and have defined in a single word this sensation - paraskavedekatriaphobia (Greek phobia from Friday of 13), or otherwise fright from Friday of 13th.

An opportunity to avoid any surprise is to lie down all day Friday, according to psychologists, or do what many other people do - ignore superstition and do the same things as usual.

A numbers game?

The origin of Friday's day, date 13 and its consideration as an unlucky day, is in fact an ancient mystery.

Number 13 is considered an unlucky number for many years even before the birth of Christ. Unlike number 12, which is historically known as the number of fullness (12 months of the year, 12 Olympian gods, 12 clocks of time, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, 12 descendants of Muhammad ...) his neighbor, 13th, is always seen as an exception.

But 13th also has an unfortunate biblical reference. Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus Christ, was supposed to be the 13th guest at his supper. Christ was crucified on Friday.

In the 14th century, Geoffrey Chaucer referred to Friday as an unlucky day: "A Friday unfortunately."

Another fact that highlighted Friday's superstition was the publication of Thomas Ã?'s novel. Launches, in 1907, on Friday. The novel attaches importance to superstition, but also the panic that is created in Ward Street on Friday, 13th.

In numerology, too, 13 is considered as an abnormal number and is the number that witches use for their meetings.

In many Western countries, the buildings avoid the 13th floor. Likewise, many homes, as well as hotels, often do not have the number 13. This is also the case of Carlton in London, which has no thirteenth floor.
