As Instagram is being used more and more by young people, a page called Scuiraglam is dedicated precisely to the trendy grandmothers. The creator of this site is called Angelo and launched this project in December 2016 and today counts more than 126,000 followers. In an interview with Teen Vogue, Angelo showed that she "fell in love" with women who watched the streets of the city. He was amazed to see old women walking in the street or going to fruit-vegetable stores dressed in expensive designer clothing such as Gucci, Prada and so on.
The word 'scuira' is in the Milanese jargon and used for an elderly lady, who is rich and modern. The photos look like they're taken from the fashion magazine page, but, in fact, Angelo has shown that he did it with his phone. He also added that every lady asks for permission for the photo he is doing. Angelo also chooses special descriptions for the photos he publishes. For example, for this picture he wrote: " Of course, we will wrinkle our lips so when we do not find the fruit we seek ."
Or this picture, where this lady was in a Gucci dress-up shop, was sitting waiting for her friends to try their clothes. Angel accompanies the description: " When your friends came to visit, but you have to wait, because they do not have a Gucci dress in the closet ."
