One of the greatest dilemmas, to which the best health experts in Italy, but also in the world are returned. Which of them should be moderately consumed or should it be removed from the food regime in order to avoid getting excess kilograms?

Sugars or fats? Which of these two nutrients should be limited to the maximum? The answer is not so obvious, as long as the scientific community returns periodically to this topic of discussion and study.

But if until recently we have been inclined to point out especially the fat that is considered not only harmful to the body, but entirely to the organism, then it is time to begin to change the perspective of thought: the true enemy ( treacherous and silent) is simple sugar.

We're explaining that point to point!

Sugars and fats

How much sugar can we consume?

The World Health Organization states that the dose of sugar that should not be exceeded is 25 grams per day, ie about 5-6 teaspoons. This means that sugar should not be completely eliminated from the diet, to avoid damage to the body, but in moderate form.

The problem is that we often try to overcome the recommended threshold, not counting the sugar that we add to coffee, tea or sugar we get from sweets, candy, hidden sugars in carbonated drinks, fruit juices, canned products, bread that is always present at our tables, etc.

Sugar, sworn enemy of your lines

And if you eat more than the allowed rate, what happens? Sugar creates addiction and consequently you do not stop consuming it, which also promotes weight gain.

When you consume, there is no sudden increase in blood glucose levels, but when you do not eat it for a few hours, your body's system falls sharply and this swing causes ever greater desire to swallow sweet foods. Excess sugar interferes with leptin functions, the hormone responsible for communicating the feeling of satiety. In this way we are no longer able to understand when we are no longer hungry and above all when we should stop.

Do We Need to Collect Energy?

Someone will argue, "Okay, but we need sugar to have energy, to play sports, to stay awake." Correct but halfway: Glucose is so essential for the production of new "fuel", but it only happens if its blood levels are balanced.

If we assume a lot, there is a constant change of blood glucose counts. This naturally contained in food is more than enough for the proper functioning of the organism.

And the fats?

The word, in this case, is a bit different. Many women think that eliminating fat from the diet can lead to the perfect line and body. Many people tend to choose so-called light products, which promise a shift in fat in favor of healthy eating. So, to treat yourself best, consume a classic yogurt instead of something full of fat that only harms your body and body lines!
