Sexism is a major problem not only in Albania but throughout the world. According to a Journal of Pediatric Psychology, girls and boys are treated differently for the same level of pain they may have. 274 adults between the ages of 18 and 75 were asked to watch a video of a baby snooping and crying. Later, they were asked to rate the level of pain from 0 (no pain) to 100 (painful) pain. Those who were told that the child was a boy rated the pain at an average of 50.42, while those who were told that the child was a girl rated the pain with an average of 45.90.

What does this mean? This shows that adults take less seriously the pain of girls than boys. This is a proof of sexism even when it comes to perception of pain. It should be noted that women were the ones who tended to estimate the lowest level of pain when it was said that the child was a girl, rather than when it was said that the child was a boy.
