According to a study recently conducted by the University of Alabama and published in the International Journal of Environmental Health Research, green spaces are considered as one of the elements that have a very positive impact on increasing happiness in humans. Therefore, different neighborhoods must have parks where residents residing there can have the opportunity to go and spend there even in just a few minutes.

Referring to the above study, if people were to spend only 20 minutes of their time in the parks near their home, they would feel happier.

This is related to the fact that when people go to green areas the benefits they receive are numerous, ranging from reducing stress levels and above all indulgence from mental fatigue, the two co-authors of this study say, Hon K. Yuen and Gavin R. Jenkins.

"Green spaces are constantly disappearing especially in cities," said Mr. Jenkins further. Over the last few years, planners and urban developers are just replacing any possible green space with residential buildings. So one of the biggest challenges faced by city dwellers is that even though they know the importance of green space around their residence, they are doing nothing but wiping them from day to day day, which should change as soon as possible, "he concluded.
