If we all knew that March 21 is the spring equinox, since day and night are equal, astronomical spring in the northern hemisphere begins today, March 20. As is known, the spring in the northern hemisphere is also known as the March equinox, while the autumn equinox occurs in the southern hemisphere.

The March Equinox marks the moment when the Sun passes to the heavenly equator. This practically means that at that moment the Sun, from the southern heavenly hemisphere, passes to the northern sky hemisphere. This phenomenon happens every year on 19, 20 or 21 March. The coming of spring is determined by following the center of the sun according to the ecliptic.

The equinox and solstice dates are not fixed due to the elliptical orbit of the Earth's sun. The Earth Axis always enters at an angle of about 23.5 ° in relation to the ecliptic - the imaginary line created by Earth's orbit around the Sun. On every other day of the year or the Northern or Southern Hemisphere the Earth's axis slightly toward the Sun, but in two equinoxes, the Earth's Axis is perpendicular to the Sun's rays. Equinox occurs simultaneously worldwide.

At the appointed time, the center of the Sun will be correct in cutting the ecliptic and the heavenly ecuador. This practically means that at that moment the Sun, from the southern heavenly hemisphere, passes to the northern sky hemisphere.

On March 20, the day lasts 12 hours and seven minutes. Usually, the first day of spring is designated as an equal day, which means that the length of day and night is the same, from the moment of birth to the sunset, 12 hours have passed.

How is it celebrated?
