More Albanians said "yes" to each other during 2018. According to a recent INSTAT publication, "Women and Men in 2019" turns out to have married 23,000 and 104 couples, about 2% more than a year earlier, where the number of marriages was 22,641.
Albanians have decided to marry younger. Unlike the past years' performance, the average age of married boys and girls has declined.
According to the INSTAT report to women, more than 53% of marriages are realized up to the age of 24, and up to the age of 29 are 80.5% of them. This explains the relatively young age of marriage for women, which is 25.5 years old. A year earlier, the average age of women marriages was 26.5 years.
For men 54.6% of marriages are realized up to the age of 29, and 82.4% of marriages up to the age of 34 years. The average age of marriage for men is 30.2 years.
However, based on data over the years, the rate of women marriages by age group shows that there is a decline in the marriage rate up to the age of 24.
Compared to 5 years ago, women marry relatively two years more.
Early marriages for girls and boys in singles age are calculated for the age group 15-19. The number of married girls before age 18, during 2018, is 24, reports INSTAT. This number has decreased compared to the previous year, when 38 marriages of girls under 18 were registered.
The percentage of married girls aged 15 to 17 years is very low, with the highest values at 18 and 19, respectively 9.2% and 7.0%, while boys do not have marriages before age 18 and the proportion of married boys at the age of 18-19 is below 1%.
