In the early 2000s, the band called Tatu and made up of two Russian girls exploded by invading all the toplists of the world. Yulia Volkova and Elena Katina were Tatu singers who set the world around. The group got instant news as the two girls were presented as lesbians breaking the taboo of that time. Their belief, "All the Things She Said," was their trampoline of success.

The two girls who were just 16 years old were dressed as Britney Spears (with school uniforms - minifund and long stockings) and performed on a video that for some was shocking as the girls were kissing on the brim. Then came the "frustration": Girls reported that they were not lesbian and all they did for fame and attention.

Tatu sold millions of albums all over the world and grabbed a lot of awards. But in 2009 the girls were divided by deciding to continue the solo career. Even though they thought success would continue despite separation, it did not happen. They were oblivious even though they continued to make songs.

What happened to Katina and Volkova during these years?

Volkova has two children with two different men and does not continue to be with either of them. In 2012 she discovered that she had thyroid cancer and underwent a surgical intervention. She lost her voice for some time, but then managed to talk and restored music again.

Katina, on the other hand, suffered a great disappointment from the public who "abandoned" after the group split. Although he did not want to return to psychology, the profession he had studied. She moved to Los Angeles and in 2013 married a Serbian musician, Sasho Kuzmanovich, with whom she gave birth to a son. In 2017, he returned to Russia to resume music career.

Is there any chance for the girls to reunite?

As they say, "the doors are closed". We will no longer have the chance to see the Tatu band once again, but the remaining ones are their early 2000s songs that teenagers of that time still remember very well today.
