Arten, we start with a presentation profile of yours first. How did you get involved in the field of dentistry?
The family I come from is a simple, intellectual, well educated and educated Albanian family. These are the qualities that my parents conveyed to me as an individual. I was born in 1989 in the city of Lushnja. After finishing my 8-year education in my hometown, I finished high school at the 'Mehmet Akif' College in Tirana and then completed my higher education in Dentistry in Ankara. After graduating from university, I moved to Istanbul to pursue a degree in Oral Surgery. Currently I have been working in the field of Dentistry for almost seven years. I am married to a wonderful wife who gifted me a daughter who as every parent is the most beautiful gift God has ever given us. In terms of my involvement in the field of dentistry, it has always been my dream to become a dentist. I have no inheritance of this profession in my family or relatives.
We have heard many cases that at the end of studies, dentists or doctors decide to invest in the creation of standard clinics and workplaces. Whereas, you are located in Istanbul where you set up your clinic. Why this choice?
Given the high level of education and specialization I received, as well as the continued support and advice of lecturers whom I will be grateful for throughout my life, and not forgetting my passion for this field, these were the highlights that made me able to position my clinic in a very frequented Istanbul site such as the Nisantasi neighborhood. As a young person at the beginning of my career which was very difficult especially in such a large country as Istanbul I had the opportunity to work with some of the most successful dentists in Turkey. This was a great advantage for me as the high level of patients coming to the clinic and the opportunity to have the most up-to-date equipment made me always get used to doing the perfect, high quality work.
For how many years has your dental clinic been operating in the Turkish market and what are the basic services you provide?
I have been leaving Albania for 12 years and have been operating in the Turkish market for seven years. In my clinic, I and my staff are able to provide all the services that a patient may need with the most up-to-date techniques available in the field of dentistry. Some of the services are oral surgery (dental implants), dental aesthetics (whitening, bandages, emax, zirconia) as well as all basic dental services.
You specialize in what is known as "Hollywood Smile" and oral aesthetic surgery. What more can those patients interested in having a VIP-like smile know?
My job is to get the smile back to the patients in a perfect way. By saying the perfect way I want to emphasize the fact that a smile to be such must first of all be in a healthy mouth. Therefore our primary is not only a white smile but also a harmonization of all parts of the face with our teeth. As you mentioned above, I personally specialize in Oral Surgery and Aesthetics. To be clear, surgery has all the aesthetic operations for gums as well as the planting system we call dental implant. As for `Hollywood Smile` I can tell you that it is the latest contemporary trendy for which I spend almost most of my day in my clinic.

The field of dentistry has especially advanced in the last 10 years. Living and working in a strategic place like Istanbul, I have the good fortune to be able to attend every national and international dental conference that brings together contemporary oral techniques and technologies that are trending around the world. My passion for the work I do and the fact that I am a member of the Turkish Dental Association obliges me to follow all the latest innovations in the field of dentistry. These are highly interlinked as science news serves the job market. I feel very fortunate to have been able to work with the state-of-the-art equipment available in the field of dentistry with continued work and effort.
From your experience, what are the most basic problems patients generally have? Is oral hygiene part of the culture of self care?
From my experience, during these years of intense work I have noticed that in places like Istanbul, which is an overcrowded metropolis, a good deal of people from the lower and middle classes due to insufficient culture and self-care as far as oral hygiene is concerned, we face an undesirable situation.
The fact that you operate in Turkey makes us think that maybe some well-known Albanian characters who live and work there may be your trusted patients. Do you have one?
Being Albanian with a mind and heart, and the fact that I am surrounded by about four million Albanians currently living in Turkey, enables me to reach out to many patients of Albanian origin. In order not to forget the fact that the Albanian people are hard working and ambitious, it is often the case that I have patients in very high working positions as well as the Albanian Vip. I would love to mention a few but for privacy I cannot concretely, but I have many contacts with telenovel actors, successful businessmen.
Are you considering expanding the network of clinics in Turkey, except Istanbul?
At the moment I feel very comfortable and accomplished with the clinic I own in Istanbul. And I don't believe that I plan to expand the network in Turkey. My goal is and always will be to continue working in the most perfect way by taking pleasure in the work that I do as well as the patient.
Do you have plans to return to Albania? Perhaps, a professional clinic here in the capital wouldn't be a bad idea?
Being Albanian at heart always makes me turn my back on every step of my business journey and try to do something for my people. In the not too distant future you can see why not with a prestigious clinic in Tirana. I will try my best to create a bridge between Istanbul and Tirana as I feel fortunate that the distances between these two cities are very short.
You have probably heard about dental tourism, the fact that many Albanians come on holiday to their homeland during the summer and at the same time decide to do different oral services due to the salty prices that dentists in Europe have. In your judgment, is this phenomenon normal?
Of course I've heard and the same phenomenon exists in Istanbul. In Turkey the field of medicine is much more developed than in many European countries.
Areas currently in the forefront of health tourism are the `Golden Troika ', which includes:
-Plastic facial and mainly nose remodeling operations
-Hair hair removal
- Aesthetic services and dental surgery
Dental tourism includes services mainly related to `Dental Implants` and` Hollywood Smile`.
The geographic reach of the patients I work with comes from all over Europe like Germany, Switzerland, England, Sweden, the Netherlands and definitely in Albania. In European countries the prices for the services I mentioned above are salty due to the way the dental services are organized in these countries. This is the main reason that a good portion of people use dental tourism to perform various oral services. This phenomenon is normal if every procedure is done perfectly. Otherwise there are no successful results.
They may also be urban legends, but Albanians are said to spend more on luxury cars and homes than on oral care. Is this true?
It's a point at which I wanted to stop a little. I agree with the existence of such an urban legend. I often come to Albania and I am impressed by the fact that people in luxury clothing and extravagant clothing have a dignified appearance in terms of oral care. So, in short, in some cases self-care is lacking and these people spend a lot of money on luxury goods and homes. Such a phenomenon is not observed in many countries of the world where I have had the opportunity to travel frequently. This I believe is closely linked to educating and informing the population at a very young age regarding oral care. And as a result, these people have the same care as for oral health and luxury remedies.
Are the prices at your clinic affordable, normal or not?
The prices at my clinic I think are affordable to some extent normal given the quality of work, dental materials, technology and the very professional service provided by the staff at my clinic. As I mentioned earlier in the clinic, mainly work is done with aesthetic and surgical interventions which are two aspects that can be quite costly. But this for the comfort, comfort, longevity and guarantee of the work we perform are many times more reasonable than the prices at which clinics operate in European countries. For special cases and difficult interventions we in our clinic implement the method of hypnosis which is very effective in patients who have dental phobia.
What does it mean for you to be a professional and successful dentist?
Dentistry as a branch of medicine is a broad and versatile profession. In my work as a dentist, even though I am young, I have somehow fulfilled my dream, but at the same time there are many ways to go in the future. A successful and professional dentist is one who is passionate and dedicated to the work he does, constantly supporting him with the latest contemporary developments. But, above all, success and professionalism are closely linked to the fact that you do a very good job.
The biggest difficulty in this kind of work?
A beautiful expression says: The job you do if you do it with passion and love, then you will not have to work a day in your life. Of course every job has its own difficulties, but the difficulties in my profession are minimized by the fact that they are eliminated by passion, desire, love for the profession.
There have been times when work has "avenged" the family because of extended schedules, patients? Trying to find the golden balance?
One's life in spite of his occupation is always in dilemma of dividing time between work and family. To be honest not in one case and not in a short period of time the time I have dedicated to work has been longer than I have devoted to my family. This is due to the fact that hard work, passion, and increased competition have forced me to spend more time in the clinic than at home. I try to find the golden balance over the years. Because I believe that a successful individual should be versatile as family is the most expensive thing.
