Year after year phones are becoming more and more sophisticated and have truly become an indispensable working tool and not just a luxury item. But unfortunately to have one of the latest Apple phones on average an Albanian will need to work 445 hours (about 3 months), at least 100 more hours than even countries in the region.

According to Monitor calculations, based on Apple's official prices (Iphone xs 256 gb), EU average wages (according to Eurostat), regional wages (according to official statistics in countries and countries) and average wage in Albania according to INSTAT, an Albanian needs much more time than EU citizens, or even the Balkans themselves or Kosovo Albanians.

According to Apple's official website, a 256GB iPhone xs costs $ 1249, or 1117 euros at the current rate.

Kosovo Albanians need 338 hours of work to buy an iphone xs, ranking second, which takes more hours. Right behind them are the Bulgarians. With an average monthly salary of 568 euros, they need an average of 315 hours, more than Macedonians who need 302 hours, or Serbs 278 hours.

Among the countries of the Western Balkans, Montenegrins have to work less, about 234 hours.

Over 200 hours of work are also needed for Lithuanians or Romanians, who rank among the countries with the lowest average wages.

On the other side are places like Denmark or Luxembourg, where an Iphone xs drops for less than a week's work (40 hours a week). Namely in Denmark it takes 34 hours, while in Luxembourg it takes about 41 hours.

For less than two weeks of average paid work, individuals can purchase an Iphone xs in these European countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Italy and the United Kingdom.

In Central and Southern European countries, where average wages are somewhat lower and lower, the hours required to work are somewhat higher.

So in neighboring Greece it takes an average of 164 hours.
