Jessica Guedes was 6 months pregnant as she set off to wed her fiancée, Flavio Gonçalvez, but failed. On the way to the wedding, she felt bad in the limousine she had left for the São Paulo church in Brazil. Family members thought it was anxiety and emotion before the ceremony following complaints of dizziness and neck pain, but in fact, the 30-year-old, as doctors later examined, was suffering from pre-eclampsia, the dangerous condition affecting pregnant women.
When fiancée Flavio Gonçalvez, 31, was waiting at the altar without knowing anything, a relative ran to ask for help after his partner fell unconscious in the car.
Jessica was rushed to hospital. Doctors underwent caesarean section to bring a baby to life but could not keep her mother alive. She lost her life just minutes before she got married.
Sophia's baby was 29 weeks old and weighed 930 grams. She will be kept under intensive medical care for at least 2 months.
As the prestigious Mirror writes, the medical report says Jessica suffered a stroke due to pre-eclampsia and internal hemorrhage.
" I still don't believe what happened. I feel like I'm in a sad movie where you cry, cry, cry ... then I have to leave the theater ... Anyway, in my case, the movie will never end and the suffering will go on with your whole life, â? Flavio said after losing his future wife.
Friends raised more than £ 20,000 to cover all medical services after Flavio discovered that the private maternity ward did not cover the services the newborn baby needed.
The relatives, the Mirror further writes, donated Jessica's organs before her funeral.
