In September 1989, when Princess Diana had gone to her childhood home in Althorp, a debate with her stepmother made her lose control. At the time, Diana was 28 and her father had been married to Countess Raine Spencer for 13 years, with whom Diana had a complicated relationship. In the newly released documentary, "Princess Diana's 'Wicked' Stepmother," the former princess's stepmother's assistant has shown that Diana, in anger, pushed her stepmother off the stairs.

Now neither of them lives anymore, Diana died in an accident in 1997, while Raine lost her battle with cancer in 2016. However, their relationship has always sparked interest. Despite the rivalry between them, after many tragedies they experienced together ended up becoming good friends.

Raine married Diana's father, Earl Spencer, when he divorced the princess's mother in 1969. Raine's arrival in the family was something not very pleasant for Diaana and her siblings, who were accustomed to having their father alone. On the other hand, Raine was not sensitive to the way she acted, for example, when she changed the whole look of the house, as she had no sentimental connection with her other than her husband's children. Likewise, she did not allow Diana and the other children to meet her father when he suffered an almost fatal attack, with the excuse that he should rest and remain calm.

During the last three years of Diana's life, their relationship changed completely, as they reconciled and became very friendly.
