Celebrity Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has passed away. She passed away yesterday, after a 17-year battle with cancer. The Swedish singer achieved global success in the 1990s with the hits "Listen to your heart" and "It must have been love", which then conquered the world.

In 2002, Marie fell unconscious in her kitchen, and doctors discovered she had a brain tumor. She was cured for 3 years and talked about her fears and experiences in the song entitled "The Change".

In 2005, she confessed to a Swedish newspaper that the three years of treatment had been very difficult for her, but she was now healthy. In 2008, she surprised Roxette fans with a surprise performance by joining the band's other singer, Gessle, at a concert in Amsterdam. The celebrity then organized a comeback tour and tickets were sold in record time in Europe.

But in 2016, Marie's health deteriorated again and doctors advised her to cancel music tours. She fought hard to overcome the illness, but this time she failed and passed away yesterday, December 9, at the age of 61.

The bitter news was confirmed by her friend, Per Gessle, who said things would not be the same without Marie.

â??You have been a wonderful friend for 40 years. Things will never be the same again, "he wrote.
