Using a public toilet is not a very pleasant thing and we always have that worry of cleanliness. However, when you have an emergency you have to use it. There are some people (especially girls) that cover the toilet seat with a toilet paper to prevent germs from getting into our skin. Well, some studies suggest that this may not be the best way you have chosen to guard against germs. Why?

Learn it below:

There are bacteria in the toilet everywhere, on walls, on door handles, and even on toilet paper. Paper absorbs moisture and is a great environment where bacteria can multiply. So, when you put it in a bidet and then lower it, basically, you're sitting on the germs.

Surprisingly, the bathroom is not the dirtiest place in a toilet. A microbiologist named Charles Gerba believes that the most affected surfaces pose the highest threat. For example, people are more likely to touch door handles, sinks, toilet paper with their unwashed hands, thus placing additional germs.
