Vacation days are an important moment for all families to get together or even for individuals to relax from the long and stressful days of work. So the year-end holidays are seen as good opportunities to take advantage of such days. However, not all states have the same holidays, much less the same official holidays.
Since we are at Christmas, which is celebrated by all the followers of the Christian and Orthodox faith in Albania, let us find out how many days there are holidays in each state of Europe. In Albania, the official holiday is only the 25th. However, there are some companies, mainly foreign ones, that have closed their offices this week and resume work on January 6, but very few!
But even for the public administration, although it is only one day off for Christmas, they seem to be compensated for the New Year. Yesterday, the government set a day off and January 3 for the public administration, making work for them start on January 6, after a week off.
Countries that have increased generosity in giving vacation days, according to official data of the Ministry of Interior of which country, are:
-Italia. In many areas of our neighboring country, official holidays include three. This dates back many years and has become a tradition in this country.
-Finnish: This state too has three days of official holiday on Christmas.
-Other 'generous' countries are Estonia, Latvia. Then follow most of Europe which has two official holiday days following the 24th.
-The 'stingiest' are countries like: Balkans (Albania too), France, Spain with only 1 day off.
- In countries with a very high population of the Muslim religion such as the Peninsula of Saudi Arabia and North Africa, this holiday is not an official holiday.
In the world, the country with the highest number of official holidays (in total per year) is India with 21 days followed by Colombia and the Philippines with 18. China and Hong Kong have 17 official holidays, while Thailand, Turkey and Pakistan enjoys 16 days. Japan, Argentina and Sweden count 15 official days off per year.
The advantages of vacation days are that people are given more time to be with family and to have fun. Social behavior experts say they also serve to increase social interaction and productivity. Employees have the opportunity to get tired and then dedicate themselves to working with higher productivity.
But they also have the other side of the coin, as they affect the slowdown of transactions that can be made through banks, as well as the financial sector. Finances have to wait for a while to get moving, however governments find ways to offset these "losses".
