Vicious Fair's film critic, named K. Austin Collins, risks his job after a not-so-funny comment about Beyonce and Jay Z's daughter, Blue Ivy. After the photo that Beyonce's girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion posted with the singer and her daughter, where Blue's resemblance to Beyonce was scary, the critic didn't think so. In a post on Twitter that has already been deleted, Collins attacked the 7-year-old by writing:
"I have a foreboding that Jay Z's facial genes will hit Blue Ivy and I'm really sorry for him."
There was no delay, just as severe, from Harper's Bazaar web editor Violet Lucca.
"Have they not already done so?" She wrote.
"You are right. But she is lucky, if it happened now, when she grows up she will change. It will pass the 'ugly duck' stage early, â?Collins added in another comment, further exacerbating the situation.
According to Page Six, Violet Lucca made another grave comment, but deleted it before anyone provided a screenshot. She wrote:
"Or she'll just do plastic surgery at the age of 16, like Kylie Jenner, and we'll all pretend she's always looked like that. I don't allow myself to feel sorry for the rich. â?
The offensive comments on the baby's appearance became immediately viral and all demanded the dismissal of both journalists.
A few minutes later, Collins deleted the post and wrote another, apologizing for the comment.
"I'm sorry for the post I made about Blue Ivy. It was a bad joke. Especially girls of color deserve more, â?he wrote, but that didn't change anything.
People continued to revolt at the journalist's reckless words, and for many the apology was unacceptable following malicious comments.
