Can a 4-day workweek affect productivity growth?

There are many companies that emphasize the importance of balance between professional and personal life. They recognize the fact that their employees need to be fired and that overloading is not at all good for their company's productivity. There are also those companies that are testing the four-day work week and are looking at their impact on productivity growth.

Advantages of the week with four working days:

Employees will enjoy the same pay and will have 3 days off. That's because today's employees feel overwhelmed, working up to 70-80 hours a week. But such a pace of life has a negative impact on the health of these employees as well, and they spend less and less time with their family and friends.

If all employees were given the opportunity to work 4 days a week and have 3 more days off, they would do their best to complete the loaded projects within these 4 days and during the other 3 days would have all the time sufficient to carry out all other activities.

Therefore a four-day work week would affect the balance between professional and personal life and, above all, increase productivity.

That would be ideal, but can this be accomplished?

Despite the enthusiasm for a shorter work week and the advantages associated with it, there are many barriers that hinder its realism. Different companies cannot switch from today to tomorrow, from a week of five business days to a week of four business days, because in addition to reducing working hours, what is most important to change at the same time even more difficult is the mindset, the one that needs to be changed.
