Luisa Gega has been named the continent's best athlete for January 2020 by the European Athletics Federation, European Athletics. This rating for the Albanian athlete came a few days after she upgraded her national record to 3,000 meters, setting the time of 8: 44.46.
Initially she became part of a poll as one of the top 5 athletes and on the basis of collected votes was declared the winner of the title of best European athlete for January.
Gega has also been named best athlete for the long distance (category that includes 800, 1500 and 3000 meters), leaving behind other very capable sneakers. These are great achievements for Louisa, who has once again made Albanians proud of her. It should be noted that in the rating of "European Lead", it is the first time that an Albanian athlete becomes part of the nominations and that, above all, comes out the winner of this poll.
