Coronavirus can survive on hard surfaces, such as phone screens, for up to a week and offers potential pathways to infection, scientists warn.

The virus spreads through cycles of saliva, released by coughing or sneezing and the residue can be strong for 7 days on surfaces such as gloves and apparatus.

Experts warn that phones may be acting to spread the deadly virus, advising that they be wiped at least twice a day with a disinfectant.
