Some people claim that procrastination motivates them. Others say they work better under pressure. Jay Shetty discourages letting procrastination become a habit.

â??Procrastination is not a long-term solution. So if you're doing this for about a month, or for three, it's fine, but postponing it in the longer term can really limit your potential, "- explains Jay Shetty.

Here's how to prevent it:

1. The first step is to identify what you are crawling about. You usually get carried away about things that are boring, annoying, ambiguous, unstructured, heavy or unintentional.

2. Fear.

You are afraid of 4 things: failure, expectations, opportunities, and repentance. â??We fear we will fail. We are afraid it will not work. We fear that expectations are too high or low, or we fear that what we have in our head will not be as we imagine it to be. We are afraid of not having the right skills and then feeling remorseful. We ask ourselves, 'If I do this, will I repent? If I don't do that, will I regret it? "

You need to understand where the fear originates from and then resolve it.

3. Even when in doubt, do not doubt yourself

Shetty believes that one of the best ways to remove self-doubt is to simply get started. All the planning in the world cannot fully prepare you to take the first step, which is the most daunting.

4. Break the habit of procrastination

If you are not confronted with what you are afraid of, you will continue to live in fear because you are not learning from it and you are not taking it seriously. But once you identify the fear, you will be able to turn emotional fear into logical understanding.
