The star, Luke Bryan, seems to have it all, but in fact he's gone through an unimaginable tragedy. In a dark moment, he found room in his heart to make it even bigger.
Bryan was the youngest of 3 children in the family.
â??I grew up in a small town with parents who, when I didn't do well, enveloped me. Everyone knew everybody and it was a magical life in a small town, â?he told Robin Roberts in 2017.
His magical life would face a tragedy. Once Bryan was going out on his own to explore his music career, his life took a different course.
"Just before I moved to Nashville, my brother was killed in a car accident," Bryan recalled. Understandably, his career plans were set aside in times of grief.
At the time, Bryan was only 19 years old. He temporarily gave up musical plans to support the shocked family.
"My dad knew I was one foot home and one foot outside. He was really incomprehensible to me because he couldn't justify resolving my dreams solely based on what we had experienced with our brother. We had seen how fragile life is, "he said.
Shortly thereafter, Bryan packed up his bags and moved to Nashville, where he had a love affair with Caroline Boyer, whom he married in 2006.
Before he knew it, he was performing at the "Grande Ole Opry" and his surviving sister, Kelly, came to see her on stage. It would be the last time he would see his sister.
Kelly died 1 month later, leaving her brother-in-law, Ben Lee Cheshire, alone with 3 children to raise.
Despite the grief and grief, in the years that followed, the Bryan star and his family expanded with two sons, Tomas and Tatum.
A decade later, tragedy would knock again. In 2015, Bryan's brother-in-law also died. He and his wife adopted all three of his sister's children.
â??Now we have 3 children who have lost both parents, so they are our new focus. We will strive to guide and guide them during this lifetime. We didn't think twice. We just acted. â?Bryan explained.
The brothers and cousins quickly adopted a new form of family, and it was a pleasure to see the way they all coped with the tragedy.
"Bo moved from the eldest son to the second, but he's used to it now. It was a miracle as we watched them deal with this situation. They treat Til as their brother and Til does the same. The funny thing is that Tilal passed from the youngest child to the eldest in the family. Definitely, this has been a social experiment, â?he said
"It's a challenge because working with Til is about simply giving the right amount of advice and being aware that you are talking to someone who is becoming a teenager. I have to be in that parent role, where if he does something, he has to worry, but I want to be a friend to him too. â?- Bryan told People in 2017.
Now, he considers his sister's children to be his own, and instead of being grieved by the tragedy that struck the family, he has learned to appreciate all the gifts a little more.
â??I have seen my family get up and down, getting angry at God and wondering why this happened. We will never recover 100%. We will always be working to achieve 75%. Of course, the nieces and nephew did not ask for it. Their lives were wonderful before Caroline's departure, and I took on a more important role after they lost their mother. My friend is doing what we can to help them, "Bryan said.
Luce Bryan's unusual journey to an unexpected family is a powerful lesson about power through grief and the beautiful things that can come from opening our hearts and homes to the needy. He never gave up on dreams and family. Bryan was able to build a beautiful life out of all this.
