Billie Gates, in a powerful open letter, says that coronavirus reminds us that we are all equal.
MICROSOFT founder Bill Gates has delivered a powerful message about what we can learn from the Coronavirus pandemic that has spread around the globe.
By Monday, the disease has killed more than 16,000 people worldwide and about 370,000 have been infected.
But multimillionaire Gates, who donated £ 85m to fight the virus last month, believes that despite the chaos, there is 'a spiritual purpose behind everything that happens'.
In an open letter entitled "What is the Corona / Covid-19 virus really teaching us?", He wrote:
'A SPIRITUAL PURPOSE'
"I strongly believe that there is a spiritual purpose behind everything that happens, whether that's what we perceive as good or bad.
"As I meditate on this, I want to share with you what I feel the Corona / Covid-19 virus is really doing to us.
1) It reminds us that we are all equal, regardless of culture, religion, profession, financial situation or how famous we are. This disease treats us all equally, perhaps we should do the same.
If you don't believe me, just ask Tom Hanks.
2) It is reminding us that we are all connected and something that affects one person has an effect on another.
It reminds us that the false boundaries we set are of little value as this virus does not need a passport.
It is reminding us, for a short time, of oppression, of those in this world whose whole lives are spent in oppression.
3) It is reminding us of how valuable our health is and how we neglect to eat poorly produced foods and drinking water that is contaminated with chemicals over chemicals.
If we do not take care of our health, we will certainly get sick.
4) It is reminding us of the shortness of life and what is most important to do, which is to help each other, especially those who are old or sick.
Our goal is not to buy toilet paper.
5) It reminds us of how materialistic our society has become and how, when in times of adversity, we are reminded of the essentials we need (food, water, medicine), compared to the luxuries we sometimes unnecessarily give value.
6) It is reminding us how important family and home life are and how much we have neglected that.
It is forcing us to return to our homes so that we can return them to our home and strengthen our family unit.
'OUR TRUE WORK'
7) It is reminding us that our real work is not our work, this is what we do, not what we are created to do.
Our real job is to take care of each other, protect each other, and be in each other's favor.
8) It is reminding us to keep control of our ego.
It reminds us that no matter how great we think we are or how many others think we are, a virus can bring our world to a halt.
9) It is reminding us that the power of free choice is in our hands.
We can choose to cooperate and help each other, share, give, help and support each other or we can choose to be selfish, to hold on, to take care of ourselves only.
Indeed, it is the difficulties that highlight our true colors.
10) It reminds us that we can be patient, or we can panic.
We can either understand that this kind of situation has happened many times before in history and it will pass, or we can panic and see it as the end of the world and, consequently, cause ourselves more harm than not. good.
11) It is reminding us that this can be either an end or a new beginning.
This may be a time of reflection and understanding, where we learn from our mistakes, or it may be the beginning of a cycle, which will continue until we finally learn the lesson we need to learn.
12) It is reminding us that this Earth is sick.
It reminds us that we need to look at the rate of deforestation as urgent as we look at the speed at which toilet paper is disappearing from the shelves. We are sick because our home is sick.
13) It reminds us that after every difficulty, there is always ease.
Life is cyclical, and this is just one phase in this great cycle. We do not need to panic; this too shall pass.
14) While many see the Corona / Covid-19 virus as a major disaster, I prefer to see it as a * major * corrector
It is sent to remind us of the important lessons we seem to have forgotten and it is up to us whether we will learn them or not.
