Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, head of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, spoke to Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday.

Life in the United States will not return to "normal" until a coronavirus vaccine "spreads around the world," billionaire Bill Gates told Fox News Sunday.

"We will finally have a vaccine. Even before that, if we do the right thing, we will be able to open up important parts of the economy, Gates said.

The United States will have to pay a "huge economic price" to control coronavirus pandemics and not test the right people to "figure out what's going on."

"I think if we fix the testing situation, if all 50 countries are involved, we will be under projections," Gates said. "Of course, we will pay a high economic price to achieve that."

Gates said the number of people being tested is not as significant as testing workers in key sectors and getting results in less than 24 hours.

He predicted that if enough Americans committed suicide, cases of the virus could begin to subside by the end of April. The United States may look to "some kind of opening," as numbers begin to decline with nationwide testing.

Gates, known for his philanthropic efforts, has contributed a significant amount of money to easing COVID-19.

His charity, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has partnered with the fight against infectious diseases after helping set up the Coalition for Epidemic Preparation and Innovation (CEPI) in 2016.

Last week, Gates detailed a three-step plan in the Washington Post overcoming the new coronavirus outbreak.

Gates, who predicted the kind of devastation a pandemic could bring if world leaders did not prepare, full five years ago, used his platform to raise awareness of coronavirus and donated $ 100 million to aid efforts through the foundation's his benefactor. / bota.al
