Millions of people are adjusting to living under the security measures taken against coronavirus and France has ordered its population to stay at home.
But one gentleman decided to break the quarantine and cross the border into Spain in search of cheap cigarettes.

It did not end well because he was lost and had to be rescued from the rescue service in the French mountains.

He was "exhausted, trembling and lost" when he was rescued by a helicopter on Saturday. The gentleman, whose name has not been made public, drove out of the city of Perpignan but found himself trapped by border police. So, he tried to cross the border to La Jonquera on foot.

However, after losing his way on the mountain slopes, he fell into a river and some bushes, until he ended up seeking help.
Rescuers immediately found the gentleman's whereabouts and evacuated him by helicopter, returning him to Perpignan, where he received a fine of 135 euros for violating quarantine rules.
