Singer Grimes has revealed the meaning behind the unique name of her newborn son with Elon Musk.
Musk announced the birth of their son in a Twitter post on Tuesday, telling a fan they had chosen to call the X Ã? A-12 Musk.

The singer, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, explained that "X" means "unknown variable". Meanwhile, "Ã?" is the eleventh pronunciation of AI, artificial intelligence, and translates to "love" in several languages, such as Japanese.
The 32-year-old star then said that part of the boy's name is a reference to the couple's favorite plane.
"A-12 = the forerunner of the SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no protection, just speed. Wonderful in battle, but not violent," she added.
Grimes ended the message by revealing that "A" represents "Archangel", which she described as her favorite song.
She did not inform fans how to actually pronounce it. The X Ã? A-12 is the couple's first child together.
Musk, 48, has five other children, twins Griffin and Xavier, as well as Damian, Saxon and Kai, from a previous marriage.
