Angelina Jolie had a strong reason to call her first daughter Shiloh.
It was the 45-year-old Angelina who named the girl and it is a name that honors a tragic moment in the history of the Jolie family.

It has been reported that Angelina actually used this name when staying in hotels around the world.

She discovered that she used the name Shiloh Baptist as a pseudonym and that the name had a biblical history.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Angelina revealed: "It was a name my parents almost gave to their first child. An abortion occurred: Shiloh Baptist.
"Because my father shot in Georgia and that was the southernmost name they could find. It's a name I've always liked. I've been to hotels like Shiloh Baptist."

Angelina also revealed that she wanted to teach her six children (Maddox, Paz, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox) all religions so they could make an informed choice.
Angelina also said that Brad once gave her a bookshelf, which had books for every religion.
