Justin Bieber has filed a $ 20 million (16 million £) defamation lawsuit against two women who accused him of rape.

Last week, the two women made a Twitter post claiming that the 26-year-old singer sexually assaulted and raped them in 2014 and 2015, respectively, when he was in a relationship with Selena Gomez.

Shortly after the post Justin posted a series of tweets online denying the first woman's allegations, saying he was with Selena at the time and not at the scene where the accuser said he raped her, but is expected to comment publicly on the allegations. second wife.

Legal documents show that Justin is suing the two women for $ 10 million (milion 8 million) in damages each.

Justin's lawyers say their claims are "actually impossible and are refuted both by indisputable documentary evidence and by the admissions of individuals themselves."

The first defendant, who deleted the posts, claimed to have been attacked by the singer in Austin, Texas, on March 9, 2014, in a hotel room.

Justin's legal team says he did not stay there that night and "has numerous witnesses and documentary evidence to contest" "her bad lie."

He says he stayed at Airbnb and spent the evening with his team and Selena.

"Documents show that his team also provided evidence that includes details and rental property invoices where Bieber and Gomez stayed with friends, as well as information from the Westin hotel where they stayed the night before."

The second defendant, whose charges are still live on Twitter, claims to have been attacked by the singer on May 5, 2015, after he invited her back to his hotel in New York.

Justin's lawyers say her claims are "in the same way virtually impossible, contradicted by her own previously written statements, supported only by falsified texts".

They say she's a "super fan," who is "desperate to meet him and gain his attention and a little fame."

He also says that Justin could not rape her on this date, as he was at a Met Gala evening at the time.

Justin wrote: "Any allegation of sexual abuse must be taken very seriously and that is why my response was necessary. However this story is in fact impossible and that is why I will work with the authorities to take legal action." .
