In fact, face masks are now mandatory for public transport, taxis, indoors, etc. But do you know how important it is to store and wash carefully the individual mask you use? Here are the valuable tips for you!
Why you need to wash it every time you use it
If you buy or make a face mask it is mandatory that you clean it regularly. Although the purpose of the face mask is to protect yourself from others, the face mask, especially the fabric ones needs washing. If you do not wash it, you run the risk of germs and bacteria on the face mask getting sick or staining the areas where the mask rests on your face.
The best way to wash it
One of the best ways is to put it in the washing machine and add some safe disinfectants to the fabric. You need to do this every time you put it on, just to be safe.
You can wash it by hand
If you do not have time for a washing machine at dinner, then you can wash your mask. Fill a clean container with hot water, a little detergent and start cleaning the mask. Pour the water as hot as possible and make sure to thoroughly clean the mask for 5 minutes. Then rinse with cold water and allow to dry completely.
Store properly when not in use
If you remove the mask for any reason, make sure you store it properly until you go home to wash it. Leaving your mask loose in your bag can transfer germs to other items in your bag and vice versa. Keep a small disposable bag inside your purse or pocket that you can hold the mask on until it is time to wash it.
Wear more than two masks
Having two face masks means you will always have a spare when the other is washed, so it pays to invest in one or two packs, at least.
