The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people in almost every country in the world to wear masks and maintain social distance, so seeing the situation, tech giant LG has announced it will launch a new type of mask as a protective measure to the coronavirus. Officially, LG's new mask will be called the " PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier " and its main function is to filter the air while the user is holding it. This new mask uses two H13 HEPA filters, which are similar to the filters LG uses for home air purifiers, and they can be replaced whenever needed. Also, the new mask has two fans located on the inside and their speed can be adjusted between three levels so that breathing is more natural.
Considering that the new mask is an electrical device, it is understood that it should be charged and LG says that the battery can stay up to two hours in the highest mode and up to eight hours in the lowest mode, referring to the speed of fans. The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier comes with a filler and an ultraviolet light which kills harmful germs that may have stuck to the mask. The charger can also detect when the filters inside the mask need to be replaced, and users can understand this through the LG ThinQ smartphone app. One of the main concerns with the mask is comfort, and LG ensures that PuriCare will fit comfortably on users' faces, and the company says it is comfortable enough to be used for hours.
The new LG mask is expected to be presented at the virtual exhibition " IFA 2020 " and is planned to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. As for the price, it is still unknown how much it will cost./BM/
