Silva Bino, head of the Epidemiology Department at the Institute of Public Health, said today in a television interview that there are three options regarding booking the antiCovid vaccine.
" Albania has several options. One option is COVAX, which is a type of partnership between several international partners and different countries. By making this deal, you manage to initially pay a much smaller amount for a certain number of doses and to cover a certain percentage of the population. Another option is an agreement with an EU country, which provides the vaccine by bilateral agreement. And then the other option is being seen through the EU " , - said Silva Bino, head of the Department of Epidemiology.
According to her, the vaccine against COVID-19 is initially intended to cover only a part of the population, while priority will be given to people with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, lungs and people over 70 years.
" First it is thought to get coverage for 20% of the population and then this will continue gradually. Vaccination against COVID-19 is not mandatory because it is a vaccine based on the information people will receive and their decision of what they want to do. "In all the initiatives that the government is taking, it is trying to provide these vaccines for free," Bino said.
As to whether or not to restrict movement, Bino said the decision will depend on the situation, however various countries are applying partial isolation within the country.
" Many countries apply isolation for different cities, for different areas and of course for work centers. "We have acted during this time, there are isolations that are called partial", - said the head of the Department of Epidemiology.
