Italian authorities are testing a new super fast test for Covid-19, which is able to determine in 3 minutes whether a person is infected or not. The new test, called the "Daily Tampon", is being tested by the Italian Ministry of Health and is expected to be approved soon.

The Daily Tampon was created by a Lombardy-based company called Allum in collaboration with the University of Sannios. The Daily Tampon works just like a pregnancy test. Initially, saliva samples are taken and placed in the tampon, thanks to the use of three reagents, the result is enabled. If you are positive two lines appear and for negative, only one line.

Italy is not the only country currently working on the production of rapid test kits. French authorities on Wednesday launched a new type of test that enables people to get their results in a faster time. Health Minister Olivier Veran said the new tests, called 'antigénique rapide', would give results in 15 to 20 minutes, although the downside is that they are less reliable than PCR tests.
