Based on the latest instructions from the US Department of State, the US Embassy in Tirana will resume processing US Lottery applications on Monday, September 14th.

Please note that the US Lottery 2020 program expires on September 30, 2020. The State Department has set priorities in interview planning, based on the recent court ruling (Gomez v. Trump) and statutory standards, which the State Department hopes result in the timely issuance of visas to selected applicants, by 30 September. For more details, see here .

Immigrant visas to the United States are processed for Albanian citizens and residents at the United States Embassy in Tirana.

To apply for an immigrant visa, a foreign national wishing to immigrate must be sponsored by a U.S. citizen or close relative with legal residency, or a prospective U.S. employer, and have an approved petition. before applying for an immigrant visa. The sponsor initiates the process by submitting a petition on behalf of the foreign national to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
