Coliesa McMillian has passed away at the age of 41 and the news was confirmed on Wednesday by her family.

The mother told TMZ that Coliesa passed away on Tuesday, in a hospital in Louisiana, a few months after she underwent surgery to lose weight.

After the operation, Coliesa suffered from a deadly infection, after which she fell into a coma, although her family, for some time said she had begun to recover.

Coliesa appeared in the eighth series on the TLC TV reality show in March, in which she stated that her current weight was 291.66 kg.

Doctors performed an operation earlier this year, even though she had not lost enough weight to perform the intervention.

They took the risk, fearing there might be a dangerous blockage in the colon.

After undergoing gastric surgery, Coliesa lost 68 kg, but there were complications that followed and cost her her life. After a series of stitches after the operation, the 41-year-old suffered high-grade hemorrhage. After that, doctors decided that Coliesa should be kept alive with oxygen, but after two weeks in clinical death, she could not survive.

In April, her family said the condition was stable but it took a long time for full recovery.

Coliesa's daughter Hannah told The Sun at the time: "She is doing well, she just has to learn to do everything from the beginning . "
