Parents, you all know that the time has come for children to 'negotiate' with you to do things that are out of their control. There are some common questions that come to you from children such as:

Can I have a smartphone? Not ?! Why not? When can I have it?

I got tired of watching Ben Ten, can I see The Simpson? Po The Family Guy? What about The Game of Thrones? Not ?! Why not?! When can I see you ?!

Then come the questions that try to trap you:

You let the (older) brother watch that movie, why not me?

All my friends have seen that movie, why don't you let me?

You even saw that movie when you were younger than me, why not me?

I saw X movie that was scarier than this one, why not see this ?!

Now that we are in the pre-Halloween period, the kids have prepared their scary costumes. Also, look forward to the main element of this holiday, which is the scary movie. Many of you may think that watching a scary movie will be fun for the whole family, as it is ultimately just acting, right? The purpose of watching scary movies is to scare them. So part of this fear is experienced as a kind of pleasure. However, psychologists warn that this form of entertainment can lead to a strong adrenaline rush and every child can experience it differently. Their brains are unable to process threatening and disturbing images. They may react immediately to stimuli coming from the screen such as tremors or bursts of tears. The impact can be reflected in sleepless nights, nightmares,

It is not uncommon to see adults who are afraid of clowns. This comes as a result of a trauma they may have gone through after watching a scary movie with the clown at a young age. So this negative emotional impact can remain for years in the child's life. The younger the child is when they watch a horror movie, the longer the effects will be.

Instead of a scary movie on Halloween night, you can wear all the scary costumes and arrange less scary games where fun rather than fear prevails.

Their active imagination should be encouraged through creative and healthy exercises and games.
