The director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the IPH, Silva Bino, has spoken from the Infectious Diseases Hospital where she has been hospitalized since September 25, due to a coronavirus infection. Through an online conversation with journalists, she has shown the danger to Covid, while adding that she herself is in good health, because she went to the hospital at the right time to receive the right treatment.

The focus of the conversation with journalists was vaccination against the flu as an additional protection, in case of coronavirus infection. Coronavirus and influenza are not the same, as Covid-19 has more severe effects and higher risk, but the doctor, in the absence of Covid vaccine, emphasizes the prevention of influenza by making the vaccine:

'I'm still in the hospital, I'm being treated, I've been serious, but I'm in better shape. But today I am going to talk about flu vaccination. Covid is not the flu, but Covid is even more serious, it takes severe forms. I came to the hospital on time. I can say that the flu is dangerous and for it you need to come at the right time for treatment. Influenza is a serious disease, but it can be prevented by vaccination. The important thing is that the vaccine does not harm or cause the flu. '

Bino calls for co-infections to be avoided through the flu vaccine:

'It is important for those age groups who may have more severe infections to get the flu shot. Covid does not have the vaccine yet, but the flu does. Influenza vaccination is performed at any time. This year our goal is to complete the process of vaccinating the population by the end of November '.
