The Greek government has announced that Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city and the city of Serres, will be blocked starting Tuesday morning. The decision was made to stop the spread of the infection. Government spokesman Stelios Petsas said the situation in Thessaloniki over the past week has deteriorated significantly. Nearly 1,300 new cases were registered in the city over the weekend.

While Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte declared today in Parliament that Italy will tighten restrictive measures, starting from Wednesday. He announced that high school students will attend online tutoring; mobility in risk areas will be limited; shopping malls will be closed on festive days, as will museums and betting halls; public transport will be restricted to evening traffic.
As for the curfew, the head of the Italian government did not specify the time, but spoke at length about the "late evening". The decree will contain both the above measures and the stricter rules differentiated by regions, divided according to risk groups.
