
Albanian actor Valter Gjoni dies of coronavirus at the age of 66. For more than a week he had been infected by COVID, a battle he did not win. The news was announced by his son, Klevis Gjoni, on social networks.
Mayor Erion Veliaj also reacted to his separation from life. Through a Facebook post he writes that Walter Smoothie served the city with love for 4 decades.

Valter Gjoni has realized about 20 exhibitions and 8 thematic publications. He holds several honorary titles inside and outside the country, where the highest title is Knight of the Order of Merit of the French Republic and the Order "Naim Frashëri" of the Republic of Albania and "Gratitude of the City of Tirana".
Valter Gjoni was born in Tirana and completed his studies at the Academy of Arts. Initially, he started working as an actor and director in the Artistic Troupe of the Army, at the People's Theater (National), near the film studio "Shqipëria e Re" and RTSH. He has played in 60 roles in theater, 8 roles in cinematography, has made 5 documentaries, etc.
Has completed qualifications in several countries such as France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, etc. He has written many cultural articles. After a work experience in the art and media institutions of Tirana, in 1991 onwards, V. Gjoni was appointed to the Municipality of Tirana, where he fulfilled a series of duties, as head of sectors related to art, culture, ceremonial and international relations.
