The rapid antigen testing will start on Monday in Tirana. According to Minister Manastirliu, the rapid test will be performed initially in Tirana and from December 20 will be available in regional hospitals.

"We started with the first contract, 100 thousand fast antigen tests. Testing will be at outbreaks assessed by epidemiologists as a strategic point to stop the infection. A certain calendar will be followed. The test points will be made known in the following and the number of inhabitants specified as needed. In the first phase, starting on Monday, the rapid antigen test begins, which will be available in all local health care units. They are the structures that perform the buffer test. From December 20 it will be in regional hospitals. From December 20, rapid tests will be made available in regional hospitals for emergencies ", - said Ogerta Manastirliu, adding that in the future 300 thousand tests will be provided.

While Silvia Bino has explained how fast antigen testing works, the response of which comes out in 30 minutes. This test should be done in the first 5 days of infection, when the viral load is highest. Bino also stressed that the test is 100% accurate and that it is recognized by the WHO and also tested by the FDA, in the US.

This test is expected to facilitate epidemiological investigation and will allow epidemiologists to improve some elements of fieldwork.
