If you pay attention to the usual hair care tips, you have probably heard, at least once, that combing your hair while it is still wet causes a lot of damage to them. But is it really harmful to comb your hair when it is wet?

According to Mary Kate O'Connor, Eva Scrivo Salon colorist and hairdresser, the answer is no - but it all depends on what you style your hair with.

"We use pork bristles to comb clients' hair," says Mary Kate. "As long as you let the brush dry properly and completely between uses to make sure the bristles don't tangle together, it's okay."

So if you use a quality brush, it slides through the hair, combing it without tangling. However, no matter what kind of brush you use to comb your hair, you need to keep in mind to comb your hair gently.

But many people use this type of brush, which has a small ball at the end of each thread:

Since these balls are not glued to the bottom of the brush, Mary Kate warns that your hair can be wrapped around them, locked and torn, causing a lot of damage.

Therefore, be careful when choosing the brush.
