George Clooney was hospitalized with pancreas after losing nearly 11kg, for his upcoming role in the movie 'The Midnight Sky', according to the Mirror.

Clooney, 59, in the role of an astronomer surviving an apocalyptic event, four days before being reported for the role, he was rushed to hospital with stomach pain, diagnosed with pancreatitis, where he spent weeks being recovered.

He said, "I was trying so hard to lose weight in such a short time and I was not taking care of myself."

Clooney, who is also the film's director, added: "It took a few weeks to get better and as a director, it's not that easy because you need energy. "We were shooting on the glacier in Finland, which made it a lot harder."

He also had to make a magnificent beard for the role, which had caused him problems with his wife and daughter, as they were annoyed by such a large beard.
