Robbie Williams is discovering the reason he gave up seafood and is instead focusing on a plant-based diet.
The 46-year-old famous actor spoke in a radio interview about his eating habits - and revealed that he was eating so much fish that he was poisoned with mercury.
"I was eating fish twice a day and I had a very high percentage of mercury, so much so that even the doctor had never seen it before."
After this experience, Williams said he started using plant-based diets. Symptoms of mercury poisoning, which accumulate over time, include depression, anxiety, tremors, irritability, memory issues, muscle weakness, changes in vision, and problems with speech or hearing, according to Healthline. While all fish contain less mercury, larger fish tend to have higher levels of the toxic metal.
Williams said he now cares more than ever about his food.
