The 59th Song Festival starts tonight on the Albanian Radio Television. RTSH website has announced that there will be 25 musical creations in the competition, while initially 26 were presented. This is after Manjola Nallbani withdrew from the competition. In a statement to Anabel, the singer confirmed the news and revealed the reason why she made this decision.

"I withdrew from the Festival, because during the rehearsals and preparations by other competitors, I was with Covid. "Besides, because I'm better now, but the main thing [of withdrawing from the competition is] that the Festival will be held outside in the square and I can not risk my health again at a time when I'm recovering and I have to be careful." said Manjola.

Unlike any other time, this year the festival will be held in the open air, in the square of Italy, as a result of the pandemic. 25 songs will be in the race to represent Albania in Eurovision. The second night is expected to take place the next evening, when the songs will be presented in another, acoustic form. While the final night will be held on December 23rd.
