If until a few days ago it seemed just a hypothesis, the possibility of quarantining the Sanremo public and the artists participating in a cruise ship is becoming more and more concrete. Italian media are talking about a "quarantine boat" on the Costa Smeralda, which can be anchored in the waters outside the city of flowers, in order to create a health "bubble".

According to this news, the audience of 300-400 people and artists will remain isolated on the ship and will be subjected to tampons, in order to be immunized until the beginning of the Festival evenings, when they will be transported first to land by boat and then to Ariston by small buses.

According to "Dagospia", the organizers of the Festival (which will be run by Amadeus from March 2 to 6) are working on a solution respecting anti-Covid health rules. They therefore thought of creating a "bubble" on the Costa Cruises ship, similar to those built in the United States to allow the NBA championship to end.

This hypothesis has been challenged by Sanremo hoteliers and the mayor, Alberto Biancheri. Flower City prefers the use of some "armored" hotels, as is being done for "Sanremo Giovani", always paying attention to adhering to anti-coronavirus protocols.

There is still no official decision on how to proceed.
