New Year's Eve is widely celebrated around the world, although this year the holiday across the globe has been reduced. Among the many traditions that accompany this holiday, such as baklava, turkey and filling the table full of good food, there are also many superstitions, which we inadvertently believe. Some superstitions we have heard from grandmothers, some we have borrowed from other countries, but many people respect them because they believe that many of them have to do with things that happen to them. What are some of these superstitions that people believe about New Year's Eve, and what are some things we should not do on New Year's Eve because they can bring bad luck?
New Year should not find you in debt
Many people think that if the New Year finds you in debt, you will spend the next year borrowing.
Do not finish the whole dish
The New Year should find you with a full table, so make sure you leave something on the plate and do not consume them all before 00:00.
Do not cut bananas
Bananas are thought to bring bad luck. If you have them at home, do not wait for them or consume them on New Year's Eve, leave them for the next day (always if you are superstitious).
Other foods that should be avoided are stuff with wings, like chicken, as it is thought that fate flies away if you consume them. Also, arragosta should not be consumed, as it goes backwards and your destiny can go the same next year.
