World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has called for justice for the spread of Covid-19 vaccines, saying he wants to "see the vaccination process take place in every country in the next 100 days".

Speaking at a virtual press conference in Geneva on Friday, Tedros stressed that efforts should be made to ensure that middle- and low-income countries are equally protected.

"We are working hard but we need to do even more to ensure that vaccines reach those who need them most. I will repeat this over and over again in the coming weeks because as I said I want to see vaccination in progress in every country. in the next hundred days so that health workers and those at high risk are protected first, " said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

He recalled that in the H1N1 pandemic, which hit the world in 2009-2010, at a time when low-income countries were receiving vaccine supplies, the pandemic was over.

"We do not want this to happen again," Tedros said.

He added: "The more the virus is suppressed, the less likely it is to change. We need to be more efficient than the virus and achieve perfection in everything we do. There is only one way out of this storm. and that is to share the tools we have and commit to using them together. "
